At Newtown Primary, we operate to help every student reach their full potential — academically, socially, and personally. It’s why local families choose us as the school for their children, and why the learning community we’ve built together is one we’re enormously proud of.

Respect isn’t just our core value and something we talk about ad hoc— it’s the thread running through everything we do. It shapes how we teach, how we support one another, and how we grow, enriching educational opportunities that develop the whole child: academically, socially, and emotionally.

As the Principal of our great school, I am privileged to lead a team of dedicated, passionate teachers and education support staff who work tirelessly, every single day, to help every student achieve their best. Although we are small in numbers, which is also a strength, we are very proud of the collaborative and committed work done every day to support our students and families. Newtown PS’s culture of improvement is one that benefits every child, every year.

One of the many items that make our school such a thriving and strong educational environment is the partnership between our students, families and staff. As Principal I see this as the heartbeat of our school, and as a family of our community, you will experience this firsthand. You will have a direct involvement in your child’s education with frequent touchpoints with staff regarding your child’s academic, social, and emotional growth and achievement. Something we are very proud of.

For families wishing and wanting to engage and have a more hands-on approach, you will have multiple opportunities to be involved in, and part of, our outstanding school community. From our much-loved Trivia and Auction Night to countless other community events, the ability for you to be actively engaged is plentiful. We deeply value the home-school connection because we know it’s vital to every child’s education and success. Parent involvement doesn’t just make more possible for our students and your children— it gives our families genuine friendships and a real sense of belonging in a vibrant and connected community.
